Housekeeper/Cook with separate accommodation provided
|Location:||UNITED KINGDOM, South East England, Oxfordshire, Henley-on-Thames|
|Job type:||Permanent, Full time|
|Date:||Sunday 5th August 2018|
|Closing date:||Wednesday 5th September 2018|
A remarkable opportunity to help run a remote and peaceful four bedroom idyllic manor house in South Oxfordshire on a traditional estate as Housekeeper/Cook. Accommodation is provided in a two bedroom cottage in the local village so own car is essential.
The job is for 40 hours per week, spread over 5 days - but some flexibility is a requirement. The house is not busy, but irregular weekend entertaining means that weekend work to help with low key entertaining may be requested from time to time.
The role consists of housekeeping to a discerning standard and regular schedule, to include cleaning, laundry and linen care. Cooking and food preparation on request, so a good standard of kitchen skills are ideal. Candidates who enjoy kitchen gardening and planting will have that opportunity as part of the role, but this is not essential. Grocery shopping is not a requirement, but good sense about animals and more particularly of dogs will be a plus when applying.
The house is part of a larger working estate and organic farm, but the role offers a great chance for an independently minded candidate to make the role their own, while being part of a wider community. Discretion, careful day to day attention to detail, and ability to anticipate the household’s needs are key.
Previous similar housekeeping experience for three years or more is a requirement, as are written references and DBS check (plus full driving licence). Salary according to skills and experience. Please send CV with photograph.
There is no need to provide bank account details or payment to any person or organisation when applying for a job.
