Resident Matron (Full-Time)
A Resident Matron is required from April 2017 for part of the Sixth Form at Benenden. Working under the leadership of two Housemasters, the Resident Matron aims to promote and maintain a purposeful and happy environment, supporting students as they become more independent in preparation for life beyond school. Candidates should be organised, good motivators, empathetic listeners and have sound computer skills. Matrons play a key role in the life of the House, supporting, enthusing, cajoling and calming students through their daily lives.
One-bedroomed accommodation is provided year round in the House.
Benenden School is an independent boarding school for girls, founded in 1923 and situated in 240 acres of beautiful parkland in rural Kent. At present, there are 542 girls in the School. A considerable amount of new building has been completed in recent years, including a Science Centre, an all-weather pitch, Sports Pavilion and staff housing.
Meals are provided to staff whilst on duty. The School’s leisure facilities, including a fitness gym and swimming pool are available for staff to use.
The nearest railway station is 7 miles away providing direct links to London.
